Hamstrings

The hamstrings run down the back of the thigh. They bend the knee and extend the hip. Strong hamstrings protect the knees, improve sprint speed and underpin the deadlift. There are two main patterns: knee flexion such as leg curls, and hip hinges such as Romanian deadlifts and good mornings. This group also holds Olympic lifts like the clean and snatch, plus plenty of stretches to keep you flexible.
