What you can encode
A QR code is just a compact way to hand a piece of text to a phone camera. This tool builds the right text for five common cases: a web link, free text, Wi-Fi login details, a contact card and a bank transfer. Pick a tab, fill in the fields and the code updates as you type.
Wi-Fi codes let guests join your network without typing a password. Contact codes use the vCard 3.0 format, so scanning one offers to save the name, phone, email, company and website straight into the address book.
How VietQR transfers work
VietQR is the standard used by Vietnamese banking apps on the NAPAS 247 network. The code carries the bank identifier (BIN), the account number and optionally an amount and a message, followed by a CRC checksum that the app verifies before it opens the transfer screen.
Without an amount the code is static and can be reused for any payment; the sender types the amount. With an amount it becomes a dynamic code that pre-fills the transfer. The message is converted to unaccented letters and limited to 50 characters, because many banks reject longer or accented content.
Tips for a code that scans reliably
Keep strong contrast between foreground and background, and keep the dark color on the dark side. Inverted codes fail on many scanners. Leave at least a two module margin so the code does not blend into the page, and print it no smaller than about two centimeters.
Use SVG when the code goes into print or a design file, since it stays sharp at any size. Use PNG for chat apps and slides. Always scan the result with your own phone before you share or print it.
Privacy
The code is drawn locally by JavaScript in your browser. Your links, Wi-Fi password and bank account never leave your device, and the tool keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
Frequently asked questions
Is this QR code generator free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many codes you create.
Will the QR code expire?
No. The data is stored inside the image itself, so it works for as long as the information in it stays valid.
Which banks does VietQR support?
The list covers the major NAPAS member banks in Vietnam, such as Vietcombank, VietinBank, BIDV, Agribank, Techcombank, MB and ACB. Use the search box to find yours.
Why is my transfer message shown without accents?
Banking apps expect plain ASCII in the message field. The tool removes accents automatically so the text is accepted.
