HEIC to JPG Converter

Turn iPhone HEIC and HEIF photos into JPG files that open on any computer, website or app. The conversion happens in your browser, so the photos stay on your device.

Why iPhones save photos as HEIC

Since iOS 11, iPhones store photos in HEIC (High Efficiency Image Format). It keeps the same visible quality as JPG at roughly half the file size, which saves storage on the phone and in iCloud. HEIC can also hold depth data, Live Photo frames and wide color.

The catch is compatibility. Many Windows installs, older Android versions, web forms, printing kiosks and content management systems still refuse HEIC files. Converting to JPG gives you a file that works everywhere.

How to convert HEIC to JPG here

Drop one photo or a whole batch onto the box above. Each picture is decoded in a background thread, re-encoded as JPG with the quality you pick, and listed with its new size. Download single files or everything as one ZIP.

A quality of 90 is a safe default for photos. Lower it to around 75 if you need small files for email or uploads. Transparent areas, which are rare in HEIC, are filled with white because JPG has no transparency.

Make your iPhone shoot JPG instead

Open Settings, choose Camera, then Formats, and select Most Compatible. New photos will be saved as JPG and videos as H.264. Files will be larger, but you will no longer need to convert.

Separately, in Settings, Photos, under Transfer to Mac or PC, choose Automatic. iOS then converts HEIC photos to JPG when you copy them to a computer over a cable, though not when you send them through Mail or Messages.

Frequently asked questions

Is converting HEIC to JPG lossless?

No. JPG is a lossy format, so a little detail is discarded. At quality 90 the difference is very hard to notice.

Does the tool keep EXIF data such as location?

The converted file is a fresh JPG without the original metadata, which also means GPS location is not carried over.

Why is the JPG bigger than the HEIC?

HEIC compresses more efficiently, so the same picture usually needs about twice as many bytes as JPG.

Can I convert many photos at once?

Yes. Add as many files as you like, up to 50 MB each, and download them together as a ZIP.
