Merge PDF
Combine two or more PDF files into a single document, in the order you choose, without uploading anything.
How merging works
Add your PDF files with the drop zone. Each file appears in a list with its size and page count. The first file in the list becomes the first pages of the result, the second file follows, and so on. Press the merge button and the combined file downloads as merged.pdf.
The tool copies the pages of every file into one new document using your browser. Page sizes, orientation and images are kept as they are, so a mix of A4, letter and landscape pages works fine.
Changing the order
Drag a file by its handle to move it, or use the up and down buttons next to each row. The buttons also work with a keyboard or a screen reader, so you never need a mouse. You can remove a file you added by mistake and add more at any time before merging.
When a file cannot be added
A PDF that is protected with a password cannot be read, and a damaged file is not a valid PDF. Such a file stays in the list with a clear message, while every other file is kept. Remove it, or unlock the original in the program that created it, then add it again. Only valid files are used when you merge.
Very large files are skipped above 100 MB to keep your browser responsive. Splitting a big document first with the Split PDF tool is a good workaround.
Tips for tidy results
Merging does not change the content of the pages, so bookmarks and form fields of the originals may not survive. If the combined file is large, run it through Compress PDF afterwards. Name your files with numbers such as 01 and 02 before adding them to make the starting order sensible.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a limit on the number of files?
There is no fixed count. Each file can be up to 100 MB, and the practical limit is the memory of your device.
Will the quality of my pages change?
No. Pages are copied as they are and nothing is re-rendered or recompressed, so text stays sharp and selectable.
Why was my PDF rejected?
It is either password-protected or damaged. The message under the file tells you which one.
Can I merge PDFs on my phone?
Yes. The tool works in a modern mobile browser, and the arrow buttons make reordering easy on a small screen.
