Cable machines

Cables keep constant tension throughout the movement, unlike free weights that feel heaviest at only certain angles. By changing pulley height, attachment and direction you can train almost any muscle. Cable crossovers, seated rows, triceps pushdowns and face pulls are popular choices. Cables also suit rotational core work and shoulder rehabilitation. Beginners can use them to learn a movement pattern with very light, smooth resistance.
